Eddleman Donates $1.5 Million to UCSB to Fund Seed Grants

In 2020, Roy T. Eddleman made a transformative $1.5 million gift to seed-fund the Roy T. Eddleman Center for Quantum Innovation at UC Santa Barbara. Housed within the California NanoSystems Institute, the center was created to accelerate breakthroughs in quantum science and engineering. Eddleman's gift laid the foundation for a dynamic research ecosystem, supporting:


  • Seed Grants for pioneering quantum research

  • Postdoctoral and Graduate Fellowships to nurture emerging talent

  • Educational Conferences to foster collaboration and public engagement


The center continues to serve as a hub for quantum innovation, advancing

technologies that promise to reshape computing, sensing, and secure communications.
